There are already good books on the subject, such as Nicola Shaw's "Computerization and going paperless in Canadian Primary Care". However, a very practical and straightforward manual would be helpful.

MichelleMichelle Greiverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15528486116262255346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20382865.post-29857637160614791332009-04-11T16:02:00.000-04:002009-04-11T16:02:00.000-04:00Michelle,I know this response to your blog is a bi...Michelle,

I know this response to your blog is a bit after the fact (about 3 years) but I thought I'd give it a go.

I'm an independent consultant for the past two years, specializing in training and implementation of EMR systems. I'm truly amazed, considering the push by the Federal government here in the States (20 billion dollars reserved by the Obama administration for EMR implementation) to have every American's medical records online by 2014, there isn't a single book or educational guide written in clear, non-technical language for this purpose.

I was just thinking the other day how helpful it would be to have an "EMR for Dummies" book.

I'd be interested in hearing your ideas and thoughts concerning such a guide, as well as your experiences in implementing your own EMR system.Marc Morgensternhttp://morningstareducation.comnoreply@blogger.com
